Production Dramaturgy & Lobby Displays
Internal Development
Production dramaturgy can take on many forms. In some cases it is a continuation of developmental dramaturgy working specifically on character and story structure to get a play to a production ready state. In other cases it is supporting extended world building through things like lobby installations, workshops, and curated talkback geared towards ushering casts, creative teams, and audiences into a deeper understanding of the world of the play.
** I take on production dramaturgy roles on a case-by-case basis. In order for me to perform this role to the best of my ability I must be particularly selective due to the time commitment. **
My Approach
I bring deep research skills and years of facilitation and teaching experience into spaces where artists and students explore their craft. Topics range from narrative theory and dramatic structure to cultural representation and new-work development, always leaning into academic rigor and experience to create conversations that are critically engaged, accessible, and rooted in context.
The Type of Plays I’m Interested In
Are about:
-SWANA/MENA (South West Asian/Middle --Eastern and North African) experiences;
-BIPOC or Global Majority experiences;
-Decoloniality and Post-colonial stories;
-Mythology and folklore;
Have:
-Oral storytelling or documentary aspects;
-Multi-media or multi-modal aspects;
-Solo performance/ storytelling;
-Experimental performances;
-Non-traditional or non-linear narratives.

As a production dramaturg I can offer things like actor packets, lobby displays, and general information in digital and analog formats. However my approach is guided by in the room sensibility that prioritizes being in conversation with the creative team at its earliest inception. Contextualizing the world of the play and the culturally specific conversations throughout the play are at the forefront of my work.
Rate of Pay
I am happy to work with institutions both large, small and everywhere in between to find a rate of pay that feels feasible and equitable.
